About

Our products are derived from a unique collection of approximately 1800 vintage wallpaper printing rollers, believed to date from the 19th century.

Using our dedicated moulding techniques, we are now producing faithful replicas of these wonderful historical artefacts.

To do justice to the skilled workmanship that went into making these original pieces, it was imperative our methods would enable us to make products that are seamless and 3D in relief.

As difficult as it is, we have achieved our aim, giving these unsung heroes of the wallpaper industry a new lease of life and enabling us to share these beautiful rollers in new forms.

"Although there's nothing as romantic as candlelight, I'm often disappointed that candles couldn't look better when unlit.....But then came Parable - with what can only be described as Candle Fine Art.  Voluptuous on the eye lit or unlit.  Parable make candles that are at home in the world's sexiest rooms". Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

We appeared on Kirstie Allsopp's, Kirstie's Homemade Christmas on Channel 4 in December 2009 and will appear in Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's book, Decorating, in March 2010.

We can't wait to see the new Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen book, Decorating, due for release in March 2010 as we know our candles will feature in there.  Laurence borrowed candles from us last year for photo shoots.

Since appearing on Kirstie's Homemade Christmas in December 2009, things have been very busy for Parable.  With many orders to fulfil and several enquiries to respond to, our candles have been a big part of our recent success.
