Jake Phipps set up his product design studio in 2005 in response to an increased demand for his work.  Originally trained as a cabinetmaker by John Makepeace, he began by designing and making one-off furniture to commission. 

He now specialises in creating a wide range of authentic objects designed specifically to produce an affecting response with effortless functionality, playful aesthetics, and a natural elegance. 

The studio caters for a wide range and scale of projects both commercial and domestic.  Recent clients include Gebruder Thonet-Vienna, Riva, Tommy Hilfiger, Philippe Starck, Lance Armstrong, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Links of London, Innermost, Intercontinental Hotels, Novartis, Diageo and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
