My work is in part led by clay as a material and the processes around its production from wet clay to the final ceramic object. It is also a visual bringing together of contrasts – wriggling and still, wet and dry, sharp edges and blunt forms. Each piece is the product of an evolution of visual details that I’ve been gathering and using for several years. The recurring theme is in the reinvention of an elegant style that teeters on the edge of vulgarity; creating subverted Rococo forms that burst to create a light-hearted sensuality.
